Sent on a rescue mission to retrieve his colleague, Astronaut Brent finds himself on the strange yet familiar planet surface amongst a society of intelligent apes and a race of powerful telepathic mutants who are on the verge of war. The apes are taller, stronger and have the intelligence and mental capabilities of the average man. And like all men, they look to a leader for guidance.
