Sent on a rescue mission to retrieve his colleauge, Astronaut Brent finds himself on the strange yet familiar planet surface amongst a society of intelligent apes and a race of powerful telepathic mutants who are on the verge of war. Captivated by the telepathic powers of the Mutant Leader and his followers, Brent and Nova witness an unsettling religious ceremony where the Mutant society worships the doomsday device responsible for the downfall of human civilization, an immense bomb. Brent and Taylor free themselves from the thrall of their Mutant Jailor, and begin a desperate fight to end the Ape and Mutant conflict, once and for all.
