The 9" Ship in a Bottle Black Pearl Replica features a nameplate display cradle, and is limited to 5,000 pieces. Slightly warped by the curvature of the horizontal bottle, the Black Pearl is depicted in the process of slicing along a stretch of reasonably peaceful water. The Black Pearl supports three masts, sails furled, the masts and yardarms intertwined among the vessel’s elaborate riggings.
The Black Pearl was bound for Isla de Muerta when First Mate Barbossa convinced Captain Jack Sparrow to divulge the location of the Chest of Cortez. Barbossa instigated a mutiny against Sparrow, and Sparrow was left stranded on an island before the Black Pearl continued its voyage. Unfortunately for Barbossa and his followers, the Aztec gold was cursed and the crew was transformed into a host of zombified skeletons (although they showed their true appearance only when revealed by moonlight.) By the time Barbossa and the others realized their mistake, they had already squandered the majority of the cursed gold coins along a diverse route of ports. In hopes of reversing the terrible curse, they were forced to retrace their steps and retrieve every last coin.
