Blood pounds unrelenting in my veins as I run from my evil pursuer. I turn a corner and am met with...a dead end. Quickly, I swivel around to flee this trap, but he is standing mere feet away, blocking my escape in his tattered green and red sweater. He journeys methodically toward me, and it is then that I notice his right hand--or rather, claw!
He extends his fingers of sharp blades and begins to scrape them against the wall slowly, causing a sound so debilitating that I am forced to clamp my hands over my ears to try and block out the noise. My eyes snap shut tightly, and as if in a nightmare, he is inside my head! I see him laughing hysterically, a miniature imp sitting on a human skull, taunting me. I begin to scream in terror, and when I open my eyes again, I expect to see Fred's maniacal visage slashing deep into my very soul. Instead, the sight of my own bedroom meets my gaze!
'It was just a dream, only a dream!' I repeat over and over to myself. As soft laughter passes through my lips, a wave of relief washes through me. But in a flash, I become aware of a great darkness that begins to enshroud me, heavy like a wool blanket. A cackle begins to fill my ears, and as it builds, I realize that Krueger has ripped into the plane of reality to finish what he started, to claim another victim for his prison of souls.
