First seen in Tales of Suspense #40, the Iron Man Mark II armor suit was created by billionaire industrialist and super hero Tony Stark partially as a PR move. Feeling that the gun-metal grey Mark I suit wasn’t the most friendly-looking, he colored his next suit gold (dubbed the “Golden Avenger” model) to make it less frightening to the public. Of course, he also upgraded the suit’s armaments to include a force field generator, chest-mounted MK II Monobeam that could fire beams of either concussive force or heat, a sledgehammer, hacksaws extending from the armor’s fingertips and upgraded communications suite (including two-way radio and tape recorder). It was powered by a DC motor and could recharge via an integrated solar array or electrical outlet. For 1963, this was absolutely cutting edge. A throwback to the silver age of comic books, this piece is a must-have for a true Marvel historian.
Featuring a light-up monobeam in the chest plate, this humongous limited edition 1/6th scale Mini-Bust is hand painted, individually numbered and comes with a matching Certificate of Authenticity. Make Mine Marvel!
