At the beginning of November, the medieval city of Lucca once again became a mecca for comic fans, gamers and cosplayers from Italy and around the world. The event in Tuscany is the largest of its kind in Europe. Unfortunately the schedule didn't work out for us again this year, but a visit there is firmly on our event wish list, not least to meet our friends from Kaustic Plastik, Infinite Statue & Collectibles and Cosmic Group. Of course the Lucca date is written in bold letters in the Italian manufacturers' calendar and is used to present the new products for the coming year.
Kaustic Plastik showed two new characters in 1:6 scale! Toshiro Mifune, best known from his collaboration with Akira Kurosawa in »Seven Samurai« and other films by the Japanese master director. Mifune appears in a samurai and a ronin version.
Further, Kaustic Plastik will bring the very first licensed Chuck Norris figure in 1/6 scale, based on the film »Missing in Action« - of course made of extra-strong PVC 😉. We hope that we will be able to list the Kaustic novelties in our shop within this month still.
The Bud Spencer & Terence Hill series continues at Infinite. As little PVC statues they are already listed in our shop in 1:12 scale, cross-legged from »Watch Out, We're Mad!«):

Bud Spencer celebrated his premiere in Lucca as Bulldozer from the film »They Called Him Bulldozer« as 1/6 scale statue. After Bambino and Banana Joe, the line will be expanded with another iconic role of Bud. We expect the pre-order phase to start by the end of November.
A real highlight was also presented for fans of Hammer Films - a dynamic action scene from the showdown in »Dracula« between Christopher Lee as the Transylvanian bloodsucker and Peter Cushing as the vampire hunter Van Helsing.
The PVC mini-statue series (1:18) with comedian »Fantozzi« is likely to appeal primarily to an Italian audience as well as the Old & Rare statue of the comedian »Totò«. The Lupine 3rd l'avventura italiana 1/18 statue with Lupine & Jigen in their Fiat 500 for the anime episode »Lupin III: The Italian Game« also has a clear Italian connection.
There were also the first teasers (initially only with pictures of the actors) for upcoming attractions in the Old & Rare statue line. Lon Chaney is to be immortalized in two statues, as »Phantom of the Opera« and as Professor Edward C. Burke from »London after Midnight«. There will also be a new Laurel and Hardy statue and a new John Wayne. If the photo here actually clearly refers to the film, then it is from the John Ford western »The Horse Soldiers«. Last but not least the Muscles from Brussels Jean Claude van Damme, taken from the Martial Arts hit »Bloodsport«, was also teasered. All these novelties will probably go online for pre-order in the new year though, as we learned.
Good things on the way from Bella Italia!
