31.05.2021 • ABGESPACED - EPISODE 9
Great Scott, our May episode of ABGESPACED finally went online yesterday! The last run in the cutting room was a bit tough... no wonder with so much nonsense and comedy by the two dudes who sat in front of the camera this time ☺️.

If you are feeling butterflies in your tummy when you hear the topics »Star Wars« and »Back to the Future«, then you should definately stop by. But episode #9 surely will also be cool for all other nerds, geeks and collectors, because we have a nice colorful mix for everyone 🚀:

28.05.2021 • BUT THERE CAN BE MORE THAN ONE!
»Highlander« from 1986 is nowadays considered a classic with cult appeal. Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, Sean Connery as Ramirez and Clancy Brown as Kurgan are part of our pop culture today and surely everyone gets goose bumps by the QUEEN soundtrack. It goes without saying that - contrary to what was originally planned - Highlander became a franchise with sequels and a TV series. With the unspeakable »Highlander: The Source«, the brand was buried in 2007...

But hey, we're dealing with immortals here - and so there is a remake / reboot in the house! With the »John Wick« films, director Chad Stahelski showed us that he knows how to do good action. And as Deadline now reported, Henry Cavill will play one of the main roles. He has already impressively demonstrated that he can handle swords in the Netflix series »The Witcher«.

We're looking forward to seeing heads rolling again and hear the tagline: “There can only be one!“
26.05.2021 • DOWNTOWN, LAST NIGHT IN SOHO
This is what a trailer should look like! Universal Pictures released the first trailer for Edgar Wright's »Last Night in Soho« yesterday. We dare to oracle that it will be one of our favorite films of the year...

Why are we so confident? Not only because the color scheme and cut of the trailer is stunning, mysterious and exciting, without revealing too much. When Edgar Wright makes a film, you can always count on something special. He brought us such memorable movies like »Shaun of the Dead«, »Hot Fuzz«, »Baby Driver« and »Scott Pilgrim vs. the World«. So it's no wonder that we're listening. A horror thriller from his pen and under his direction promises to be finest entertainment - perfectly timed and not "off the shelf".

The themes of time travel and swinging London always trigger us anyway - and Anya Taylor-Joy alone is a good reason to go to the movies. In the trailer, she sings Petula Clark's »Downtown« so hypnotically that the trailer gets under the skin and literally absorbs us. Yes, we are hooked!

25.05.2021 • THE TIME OF THE ETERNALS WILL COME...

The first official teaser for the »Eternals« is here! It begins with the arrival of the Eternals in a very pretty Stone Age scenario with elevator music playing. The Eternals have been here for a damn long time, and have pushed the civilization of humanity that would otherwise probably not have gotten it straight. But otherwise, they stayed out of everything - until now! So there must be going on something really weird, because they not even got in between the fight of the Avengers against Thanos. Phew, and the joke at the end makes them look like a bunch of ignorant... whatevers in this light. We're curious to see how the script will explain us that logically, but let's wait and see. That's just a first teaser.

In any case, we are looking forward to the ladies Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek and the two Game of Thrones warriors Kit Harington and Richard Madden. How is your reaction to the trailer?

19.05.2021 • NECA'S FAHTER'S DAY GIFTS :)
Last weekend or right in time for Father's Day, NECA announced EIGHT new "Ultimate" figures which we don't want to withhold from you!

Homelander and Starlight from »The Boys«, a color version of Frankenstein's Monster and a motorized replica of the Grapnel Launcher from Batman: The Animated Series will first be exclusively sold in the US at Walmart.

»The Thing's« Macready (Outpost 31), »Back to the Future 2« Doc Brown (2015) and two new King Kong versions will be Target Exclusives for the moment.

We are really looking forward to it and are just as excited as you are to see if or when we can list them in our shop! Great Scott, stay tuned...
17.05.2021 • HAPPY 77TH DEAR MACHETE!
Danny Trejo celebrated his 77th birthday yesterday, on which we want to congratulate from our hearts! Let's be honest, did you really think that he's already that close to the 80 - unbelievable?!

Danny has a face that you won't forget. Equally distinctive is his personal story that finally led from drug addiction and countless imprisonments to his passion for boxing and the movies. He has been involved in more than 350 productions so far and mainly played the villain or antihero. His »Machete« figure achieved cult status and made B-Picture history.

In Germany he is always a welcome guest at genre conventions. We last saw Danny in 2017 at the »Weekend of Hell« in Dortmund, where he was in a good mood answering questions from the fans. Again, happy birthday, dear Danny!
14.05.2021 • MOTU REVELEATION HAS A DATE!
We MOTU fans have to mark 23rd July (which is a Friday, by the way!) fat in our calendars, because the highly anticipated »Masters of the Universe: Revelation« series by showrunner Kevin Smith will premier on NETFLIX on that day!

Some first stills appeared online now - and we think that these look pretty promising already! Let's see what the trailer will bring...

Parallel to these news, Mattel officially revealed the first »Masterverse« figures in a press release. We are sure that production is already at peak and that the first figures will be showing up - somewhere in the world - right in time for the launch of the show. Maybe even earler...

Of course, we are after them already and will put all efforts in to be able to offer the brand-new »Masterverse« line to you. Please keep monitoring our website and our news for further updates.
12.05.2021 • FALLING IN LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS ALL OVER AGAIN.
Friday is going to be a fest! Because then, »Love, Death + Robots« will be back on NETFLIX with eight new episodes!

The anthology of animated sci-fi short films for adults in the spirit of the legendary Heavy Metal magazine, produced by David Fincher and Tim Miller, among others, is one of the best that Netflix has to offer. If the series has passed you in the streaming jungle, be sure to watch the 18 episodes of the first season. And our weekend is saved with eight new episodes.

You can find the current red band trailer for the 2nd season here:

11.05.2021 • RULES: NO EATING PEOPLE
We've waited enough - but now it's here, the first trailer for »Venom 2« which Sony Pictures wants to bring to cinemas fall, with a full Corona-related delay.

The English title »Venom: Let There Be Carnage« already tells us who we are dealing with in Venom 2: Carnage or serial killer Cletus Kasady, as embodied by Woody Harrelson in the mid-credit scene of the first film. He then also acts as an off-narrator in the trailer who boasts bizarre humor and lots of action, perfectly orchestrated and cleverly commented on by Harry Nilsson's »One«. We are definitely hooked up and really excited!

Will super villain Shriek appear, too? At least the slightly longer English trailer gives a hint at 1:23! Or can we even look forward to a Spidey cameo? But please, Sony Pictures: give us an R-rating!
10.05.2021 • MOTU MONDAY

06.05.2021 • ELEVEN, ARE YOU LISTENING?
Breaking news for all »Stanger Things« fans! NETFLIX just released the second trailer »Eleven, are you listening?« for the fourth season of the series.

The streaming service keeps us tense, because what we see is obviously a flashback that takes us back to the beginning of Elfi's story. So we don't yet find out how things will continue and how the series picks up the loose threads of the last season.

A start date is planned towards the end of 2021. There will probably be two more trailers by then. We are very excited and look forward to returning to Hawkins!
05.05.2021 • NERDY STYLEZ ISSUE 4
Just arrived at the S.P.A.C.E warehouse, fresh from the press: the 4th issue of the cool NERDY STYLEZ! Starting tomorrow, the magazine will go out in all our packages - of course for FREE 🥳!

We also engraved ourselves there, with an awesome illustration done by our friend Peter (@collectors_apartment). The nice artwork is also available as a sticker - of course also for free... 😎.
04.05.2021 • HAPPY STAR WARS DAY AND...
...MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU!

Dear STAR WARS fans, treat yourself with one of the epic soundtracks by the genius John Williams during work, a nice glass of Blue Milk and maybe a Bantha steak for lunch - until you'll finally be able to enjoy a Star Wars movie or the first episode of »The Bad Batch« tonight. The new series will start just on time for May the 4th on Disney+!

To celebrate Star Wars Day a bit, we added - aside from our regular five offers of the week - five more special offers from a galaxy far, far away to our sale section. These are only available today - and of course only while supply lasts. We also will add a brand-new item to our shop later today - a little premier, keyword "Regal Robot". You're welcome to check in...

The biggest buzz though came from HOT TOYS already this morning: a bunch of Star Wars new announcements in the 1/6 section, from Echo, to a new Grogu and the damn cool Blurrg with Mado - simply awesome! Let's see what Sideshow, Kotobukiya and the others will come up with...

Happy STAR WARS Day - and May the Force be with YOU!

01.05.2021 • PRODUCT OF THE MONTH MAY 2021
Horror fans and especially the nostalgics among you who love the "old" zombie films from the 70's and 80's will surely be amazed by our current product of the month!

The American brand »Trick or Treat Studios« gladly grabbed a license for a couple of these creep classics and released a surprisingly detailed line of 1:4 scale busts of rotten undeads.

The probably most famous of all zombies, the so called "bald plaid-shirted zombie" from the cover of the famous George A. Romero flick »Dawn of the Dead« from 1978 was elected as our product of the month May 2021!

The bust is about 23cm high and really well sculpted and painted. Also the box design looks great so that this bald-headed dude in his checked flannel shirt is probably a must-have for every zombie fan and collector 😜...
30.04.2021 • ABGESPACED - EPISODE 8

Of course we do have something for everybody - and since the weekend is just around the corner, you can surely fit in the new episode in your TV schedule... Have fun and enjoy!
29.04.2021 • LA MICRO CON 2021
Last weekend, the so called »LA Micro Con« took place for the first time, a small but fine digital event at which we fans from around the globe were able to join from home.

Of course the big player in the collectible business - SIDESHOW - patricipated from the own studio and showed off a nice portfolio of novelties. You can check out the booth tour on YouTube. The show was co-moderated by actor and passionated collector Titus Welliver from afar.

Thanks to the support of HOT TOYS, they were able to showcase two absolute world premiers: the 1/6 Nightwing from »Batman: Arkham Knight« and damn cool 1/6 Miles Morales in Bodega Cat Suit from »Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales«!
28.04.2021 • WELCOME TO THE HOUSE OF THE DRAGON!
Finally production on HOUSE OF THE DRAGON is kicking off. The prequel series of »Game of Thrones« was announced back in 2019 and is based on »Fire & Blood« by George R.R. Martin. Some first photos from the script reading session with a couple of stars of the new show have been posted recently. This was at least a first appetizer!

Fo all of you who might not have noticed, we want to list you some of the confirmed actors and their characters:
- Matt Smith (Prince Daemon Targaryen)
- Rhys Ifans (Otto Hightower)
- Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower)
- Emma D’Arcy (Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen)
- Steve Toussaint (The Sea Snake)
- Paddy Considine (King Viserys Targaryen)

Let's hope that House of the Dragon will be as epic as its predecessor, so its successor. Well, you know it 😅.
26.04.2021 • AND THE OSCAR GOES TO...

Last night, the 93rd Annual Academy Awards took place. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the date had been postponed by two months and everything was different this time, starting with the location of the event in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theatre and Union Station. Due to the current situation, everything was much smaller and less glamorous. But the lack of tam-tam around it probably sharpened the eyes for the films and for the essentials. The lack of blockbusters eventually shifted interest to other, perhaps lesser-known films.

The big winner of the evening was NOMADLAND. The film won three Oscars, namely for best motion picture, for best achievement in directing for Chloé Zhao and the award for best actress for Frances McDormand.

Anthony Hopkins was named best actor in a leading role for THE FATHER. We were actually expecting Chadwick Boseman to win, as he was posthumously nominated for his role in MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM and was considered a big favorite. »The Father« received another Oscar for best adopted screenplay. PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN was awarded for best original screenplay.

The golden boys for the best supporting roles went to a very cheerful Daniel Kaluuya for JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH and the Korean actress Youn Yuh-jung for MINARI. The funniest acceptance speech of the evening went on her account.

As expected, TENET received the Academy Award for the best visual effects. MANK by David Fincher was nominated in 10 categories, but only got two Oscars (for best camera and best production design). THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7 was nominated six times, but came out completely empty.

We definitely want to recommend you Tyler Perry's speech, who received the Humanitarian Award:

22.04.2021 • S.P.A.C.E POSTCARD COLLECTION APRIL 2021
The month is passing by in a glimpse... so it's really the time to tease you again with our postcard for April. It is proudly presented to you by the two protagonists - Godzilla and Kong.

The cover was designed by Leonardo (nope, not "da Vinci", but surely at least as cool 😎), which you can check out on Instagram (@pizzacat17)!

As always, you can grab the current postcard for free in every package going out 😜!
21.04.2021 • BATMAN IS BACK!
It's official: Michael Keaton, for many the one and only BATMAN from the era before Christopher Nolan, will return in his role after 30 years!

He will be playing an aged Bruce Wayne in the upcoming DC film »The Flash« - in the DC Multiverse which might be connecting all existing DC universes. All DC universes? Yep! Because rumors are that also Ben Affleck will suit up again for this movie.

We are totally thrilled who else the Flash will come across with his breaking-through-dimensions time travel skills.Parallel to this breaking news, director Andy Muschietti announced shooting day 1 of the film and he also revealed the official film logo on Instagram. Awesome!
