The planned adaptation of the first-person shooter »Borderlands« continues. After Cate Blanchett (Lord of the Rings) as Lilith, Kevin Hart (Jumanji) will also take on a role. Eli Roth (Hostel) takes a seat on the director's chair.

Video game adaptations for the silver screen are always such a thing. »Assassin's Creed« was quite a flop despite the top-class cast with Michael Fassbender and Jeremy Irons. On the other hand, »The Witcher« was celebrated as a series on Netflix, but there is mainly a novel in the background. We are also curious how the very special look of the game can be transferred into a live action movie and how much of the look and feel of the game will remain... Nevertheless, we remain cautiously optimistic for the time being, if only because we like to see Cate Blanchett. So let's be surprised! What do you think of the Borderlands cinematic plans?

It was back in early 2018, when we had a collectible by the New Zealand mannufacturer »Weta Workshop« on our S.P.A.C.E Show Stage as the monthly highlight for the last time. The ugly and grumpy »War Troll« from the 3rd part of the Hobbit trilogy was our pick back then. When we received a big Weta shipment last week with new releases, including the long-awaited »The Witch-King and Frodo at Weathertop« statue, the search for our product of the month February 2021 quickly came to an end!

Again an outstanding piece of art from Middle-Earth that has so many stories to tell and that makes our eyes stare widely open while looking at it. This impressive - and by the way limited to only 700 pieces - statue captures the terrifying and almost deadly ending encounter of the Witch-King and Frodo at the Weathertop perfectly. Although Frodo is trying to escape into the twilight through the power of the ring, he gets pierced and poisoned by the Nazgul blade... We all remember this shocking key scene.

The creative team from Weta Workshop already started with first concepts and drafts of this masterpiece in 2018. Then, the Hobbit and the Witch-King together went on an unexpected journey that almost took three years of time. During the development process, the talented artist Jane Wenley re-designed the statue a couple of times and als re-arranged the whole scene. What turned out is another highlight for your »Lord of the Rings« collection that finally celebrates its release.

Warner Bros. released the first trailer for »Godzilla vs. Kong«. last Sunday. The encounter of the legendary giants promises a great effect battle of superlatives. 💥

The two monsters are among the most famous and longest serving monsters in film history. King Kong made his debut at RKO in 1933, Godzilla began his monster career in 1954 at Toho Film. The Japanese studio had the two titans compete against each other in »King Kong vs Godzilla« back in 1963. From today's perspective, the classic already looks quite out of date...

The fourth release in MonsterVerse, on the other hand, promises state-of-the-art action and CGI cinema at its best. 👌 We are also looking forward to the human teammates Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood), Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) and Rebecca Hall (The Prestige).

The film calls for a big screen and an extra-large bucket of popcorn. The planned cinema release in Germany is May 20, if the pandemic allows it.

Those who have a subscription to Disney+ can take their third date with Wanda and Vision tonight! Last week, »WandaVision« has started with episode 1 and 2 and thus heralded the Phase 4 of the MCU. Curiously - you have to make yourself aware - because who would have thought a year ago that the post Infinity saga would be started by a "TV series" in 4:3 black and white sitcom style?!

Rather we had set our minds on a bombastic action firework on the big screen (so rather in 16:9 and with some colors) with our beloved Black Widow. But Corona changed the course.

Surely, if you're a die-hard MARVEL fan, you'll have to get used to it - and Natasha and the rest of the Avengers are definitely coming back (if only to home screens). However, we think that »WandaVision« is a real enrichment for Disney+ and we look forward to the weekend with the two 😀

All of you who have received or will receive a package from us in January can look forward to a wintery »Game of Thrones« postcard. The great January design as a contribution to our »Postcard Collection« comes from our customer Marc. He created an incredibly atmospheric scene for THREEZERO's White Walker, and didn't miss the chance to take another great photo together with the Night King and the postcard. Awesome! Thanks Marc!

More than three years have passed since the first announcement by Amazon regarding their plans of a »Lord of the Rings« series coming from their studio, of course exclusively for Prime Video.

Now, we are finally getting a treat from their press conference where they released the official show synopsis! The new series will take place in the Second Age of Middle-Earth, thousands of years before the events of »The Hobbit« and »The Lord of the Rings«. This means that we will get to meet all new characters and probably locations, of course - but will we also encounter a well-known, dark and evil Necromancer...?

Our very first Product of the Month in the new year is finally a Turtles figure from the mega successful and meanwhile very extensive line up of NECA - the SUPER SHREDDER!

After the Turtles license was not available for the European market on the part of NECA for what felt like an eternity, all fans and collectors of this iconic franchise have finally been able to enjoy these wonderful figures for a year now. With the brand new SUPER SHREDDER, the series gets another highlight, because this imposing chief villain surpasses all previous colleagues and adversaries in the truest sense of the word.

Shredder is equipped with his Bishamon Yari and a TGRI canister, wears a cape made of fabric and comes in a cool pop-up box. If you already grabbed the figures for the first TMNT movie, you certainly won't be able to resist the SUPER SHREDDER from the 2nd part. Our shipment is on its way to us and will arrive - if it is not stopped by a troop of annoying foot soldiers - in a few days at Channel 6, erh S.P.A.C.E headquarter! 🐢

Ho ho ho holy shit - what a crazy year was that?! Basically, 2020 just can leave now in the eyes of most of us probably? Too many sorrows, so much fear and panic, too much suffering and grief and way too much agitation.

But still this year had its rays of lights and positive moments. For us at the S.P.A.C.E Crew this for example have been many very interesting and valuable encounters with great people who inspired and supported us. THANKS to y'all - Toby, Peter, Stefan, Marco, Patrick, Marcel and so many other cool dudes in our network!

Despite the economic challenges which came along with the pandemic, we were able to go through this year without a single day of short-time work or unpaid holiday. This makes us very proud, but even more we are very grateful - because we do know that there are companies which have been hit really hard. A very special cheer goes out to these folks (no matter if it's the entrepreneur on the one, or the employee on the other side)!

The main reason that we were not drowning during the storm surge 2020, but were able to swim above the surface all the time, was mainly you, dear customers! THANKS for your numerous orders, your solidarity and your loyalty! THANKS also for so much positive feedback throughout the year - this gave us hold, faith and also a huge drive to be able to face the challenges and, on top of that, put extra effort in our works to rock through this year with you. And man, we did so much...

Our (in total 14!) HOME ALONE TALKs during the first lockdown... a marathon at NUERNBERG TOY FAIR (shortly before the pandemic broke out in Germany)... a STATUE SPRING SALE iin spring aswell as a large CYBERSPACEWEEKEND end of November... some sort of a different San Diego Comic Con - transformed into the POP CON AT HOME, during which some great creative projects like the POSTCARD COLLECTION, our first FINE ART PRINT and of course the 2021 WONDERBUNK CALENDAR were born... nice GOODIE BAGS with stickers and flyers for every package to you... two POSTERS as freebie for you (more will follow!)... a lot of CONTENT in our NEWS, on FACEBOOK, TWITTER and especially on INSTAGRAM... up to our monthly SHOW on YouTube - ABGESPACED... a tireless battle around the defense of Castle Grayskull for the MOTU ORIGINS and of course SNAKE MOUNTAIN... and so much more - up to our historic milestone, our SHOP RELAUNCH on the 1st December!

That wasn't too bad, was it? But don't think that we would be running out of ideas for the new year. Nope - we're already brainstorming in the back of our minds ;)

But for now, we should all do the following:
To recover a bit from these hectic and disturbing months, we all can really use the holidays well. Let's lay back, fill our bellies and our batteries of strength, courage and confidence for the new year. We are looking forward to 2021!

When it comes to new trailers, it's been a really exciting week... At the games section the Cinematic trailer for »The Elder Scrolls Online: Gates of Oblivion« and the World Premiere reveal trailer for »Evil West« are optically the greatest delicacies.

The disturbed mother-daughter relationship in the thriller »Run« with Sarah Paulson, which will be released on DVD / Blu-ray on January 15th, seems very exciting. »Nobody« with »Better Call Saul« star Bob Odenkirk looks like some good hand-made action. From March 4th (probably) at the theaters.

In the series, of course, Disney is in focus with a whole Armada of new trailers that were shown on Disney Investor Day. There were great new announcements for STAR WARS (including »Rangers of the New Republic« and »Ahsoka« !!!) and the trailer for the animation series »Star Wars: The Bad Batch«. A second trailer for »WandaVision« and the first trailer for »The Falcon and the Winter Soldier« and »Loki« were shown in the Marvel department, and we are particularly eagerly awaiting Loki! There was also a preview of the animation series »What If...«.

Today, we have an info on our own behalf, regarding the current Christmas-shopping-lockdown-stress-chaos:

Maybe you already noticed it in our newsletter from last Friday... In view of the current Corona situation and the corresponding recommendations and restrictions from the authorities - and to be honest also in view of our personal exhaustion at the end of this crazy year - we have decided on a kind of company holiday for the first time ever:

On Friday, 18th December there will be regular shipping for the last time this year. From Monday, 21st December, we will only be on duty at the headquarter with a changing emergency staff for three weeks (over the entire holiday season) and otherwise either work from the home office or simply take a break. So we are still available for you and on duty on working days - but only to a limited extent.

If we don't run out of strength on the last few miles next week, we'll see you for a very special, christmassy episode of ABGESPACED on Friday, 18th December at 6:00 p.m. CET on YouTube, LIVE! You will find out more about this on short notice via our news and on Facebook and Instagram...

A very often asked question - that has reached us lately - has been "Will there be another calendar for 2021?"

The answer is: YES!

You might think that we're a little late ... but hey, better late than never. 😉 Due to the many projects and the hard year, we were unfortunately unable to implement the calendar project earlier. But we are all happy to finally be able to present you today our very noble »The Art of WONDERBUNK - Vol. 2« calendar for the upcoming year!

As for 2020, our dear friend Patrick (@wonderbunk) assembled 12 - or even 13 including cover - of his wonderful works and together with us arranged this elaborate 2021 wall calendar in Din A2 deluxe portrait format! It is again limited to 250 copies and cannot be purchased. Not even for 1 million dollars.

Keep an eye on our Instagram advent calendar, on our other news and social media posts and also pay attention to many of our friends and network partners, because you will be able to grab some copies as giveaways or in sweepstakes.

From December 3rd to 6th, the popular Comic Con Experience (CCXP) took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil - of course only as an online event. In the course of this, IRON STUDIOS surprised us with a bag full of innovations within their »Inside Iron Studios« weekend. We do not want to withhold them from you, because there were some delicacies that will definitely look good in your collection!

Fans of »The Mandalorian« are now also served by Iron Studios! Mando and Grogu are perfectly staged and implemented on a 1/4 scale. Impressive!

Stan Lee, Marvel creator and a kind of superhero, also gets a 1/4 Legacy Replica statue which you can pre-order with us shortly.

Batman fans also get new highlights for their collection, such as The Penguin on his duck from »Batman Returns« as a classic 1/10 Art Scale statue or Batman himself from »The Dark Knight Returns« as a 1/6 diorama.

Also worth mentioning are »Wonder Woman Lynda Carter«, »Elvis Presley Comeback 1968« and »Ayrton Senna 1991« - again all as 1/10 statues typical by Iron Studios.

The detailed »Jurassic Park - The Final Scene« 1/20 Demi Art Scale diorama stands out among the innovations! It shows the famous T-Rex scene with an incredible attention to detail. Certainly a feast for the eyes for every JP fan. There is also a Muldoon vs Raptor 1/10 statue to round it off.

On Thursday, Warner Bros. officially announced what had already emerged with »Wonder Woman 1984« - all films that will be released next year will start simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max, without exception. For the time being, the regulation only applies to the year 2021. Blockbusters such as »The Suicide Squad«, »Dune«, »Matrix 4«, »Godzilla vs Kong«and many more are affected. After starting on the same day in cinema and at HBO Max, the films will then run parallel for a month, then for a few more weeks in the cinema until they are finally offered for sale or rental via other VoD services.

What consequences will that have for the theaters in general? And what does that mean for Germany? We are assuming that everything will stay the same for the time being and that the films will come to the cinema as normal, because HBO Max does not yet exist in Germany. The films may be released soon by HBO's partner SKY. But what if HBO Max also starts in our country? The very attractive offer is sure to attract a large number of subscribers. Will the cooperation between SKY and HBO come to an end? What will become of SKY then? How many streaming subscriptions do you actually need? And if you are then HBO subscribers, do you still watch the film in the cinema on the much-acclaimed big screen? Isn't the sofa at home more tempting with the refrigerator within reach? And you would also pay twice - for your subscription and the cinema ticket.

What happens to the cinema anyway, especially if the Warner Bros. example even catches on? What are the consequences for the streaming landscape? And finally the question: Does the WarnerMedia calculation work out? Does this model play enough money in the coffers not only to recoup the horrific production costs but also to make a profit? Question after question. One can only speculate about where the journey is going ...
