A Comic Con at Home is actually quite a nice thing. Now we have the opportunity to watch a few interesting panels without crowding and long lines - and there are plenty of them! You can find a good overview here.

THE BOYS (Thurs. 00:00 a.m.) Showrunner Eric Kripke and the executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg as well as the actors Karl Urban and others. A clear highlight for us!

HELSTROM (Fri. 00:00 a.m.) Let's see what is said about the Hulu Marvel series!

GUILLERMO DEL TORO AND SCOTT COOPER ON ANTLERS AND FILMMAKING (Sat. 10:00 p.m.) It could be exciting!

BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC (Sat. 00:00 a.m.) Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter director Dean Parisot the writers and other actors in a panel moderated by Kevin Smith. Sounds like fun!

Only two more days until COMIC-CON@HOME. There are already a number of panels announced about the hottest series, that broadcasters and streaming services have in the pipeline. So it's no wonder that there are no series trailers today. Amazon Prime Video, HBO, Hulu and Co. saved them for spectacular Comic Con reveals.

But anyway, we have two games and a few cool movies for you on this Trailer Tuesday:

Games

OUTRIDERS
The new story trailer for the third-person shooter doesn't look bad at all. The game is scheduled to appear on all major platforms at the end of 2020.

FAR CRY 6
This trailer for »Far Cry 6« is a real treat. In addition to the look, it really appealed to us how the trailer tells its little story. Great job and a real eye-catcher in itself.

Movies

THE SHADOW OF VIOLENCE
»The Shadow of Violence« or »Calm with Horses« as the film is called in the English original tells the story of Douglas 'Arm' Armstrong who has become the feared enforcer for the drug-dealing Devers family, whilst also trying to be a good father. Torn between these two families, Arm's loyalties are tested when he is asked to kill for the first time. That looks like a crime drama with depth.

LET IT SNOW
A snowboarder not only has to fight against nature for her survival, but also against a masked snowmobile driver in black who is looking for her blood. The trailer promises ice-cold excitement with of a magnificent mountain backdrop. Will be released directly as VoD and on DVD.

TESLA
Biopics of famous scientists and inventors are currently booming. First »Marie Curie«, then »Edison« and now »Tesla« with Ethan Hawke in the title role. Due to the thematic proximity, we think the two films can very well be presented as a double feature. It will be exciting to compare them.

PROJECT POWER
What would you risk for five minutes of pure power? On the streets of New Orleans, word begins to spread about a mysterious new pill that unlocks superpowers unique to each user. The catch: You don’t know what will happen until you take it. While some develop bulletproof skin, invisibility, and super strength, others exhibit a deadlier reaction. This Netflix action cracker with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Dominique Fishback and Jamie Foxx promises great excitement! It will be released on August 14 and we marked it bold on the calendar.

THE NEW MUTANTS
We no longer have to introduce »The New Mutants«... After much back and forth there is finally a start date - August 27th. A must watch for all Marvel fans! On July 23 there will be also a panel at COMIC-CON@HOME.

Soon, it will be that time of year: SAN DIEGO COMIC CON is around the corner - well, would be, actually. Of course SDCC can not take place this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. But what would July be without Comic Con flavour?

The promoters of Comic Con, many manufacturers and of course we from the S.P.A.C.E Crew made up our minds about how to fill the nerdiest time of the year with geekness and pop culture... and so our idea for the first S.P.A.C.E POP CON AT HOME was born - and everyone is invited to join!

On the weekend from 24. to 26. July you can hang out with us live from your homes and chat with us about the hottest news, announcements and highlights! The "us" does contain great guests from abroad, as every year. As special guests we will have again our colleague Mick (@mickbaltes) and our friend Patrick (@wonderbunk) plus, for the first time, a very special special guest: Stefan (@lesgrohl). During our lives-streams on YouTube you'll be able to grab awesome goodies like shop coupons and giveaways. You can also look forward to thrilling unboxings of a bunch of new items that are not shipped yet...

What you will need is just a good internet connection, a large bucket of popcorn and of course our social media channels in your subcriptions and following lists (best thing including the alarm ring on YouTube), so you won't miss out any of our streams.

We will announce the exact time table and schedule of our streams with all the topics next week on Thursday. Are you ready? We are so excited and happy to e-meet you and we're also looking forward to the SDCC - this time in "different"!

The STAR WARS news of the week probably enchanted especially all »Clone Wars« fans among you: Disney+ has ordered the next animated series from Lucasfilm - Star Wars: The Bad Batch!

As the title already says, this series will be all about the Clone Troopers from the famous elite squad »Clone Force 99« which have been introduced and brought into the Star Wars universe in the last season of »The Clone Wars« as the Bad Batch.

Of course, mastermind Dave "most of the time I am hiding my superbrain under my cowboy hat" Filoni will lead the strings as executive producer. This basically already guarantees a great storyline.

It's likely that the crew will shortly start to write and produce, so that the show can launch on Disney+ next year :)
 

You mortals, let all hope go, because today's Trailer Tuesday brings you the full blast of horror. Click at your own risk! But maybe a few weird superheroes will save your day in the end...

VAMPIRE THE MASQUERADE: SWANSONG
Anyone who really wants bloodsucking action should be in good hands in this role-playing game. It will be released next year for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

THE DARK PICTURES: LITTLE HOPE
The trailer for the second game from the »The Dark Picture« anthology series spreads a nice scary atmosphere. The town of »Little Hope« should be worth a visit for horror fans. The game will be released just in time for Halloween on October 30th.

Movies

RANDOM ACTS OF VIOLENCE
The authors of the Slasherman comic book series notice frightening similarities between the character they created and terrible real-life events. Interesting because comic conventions will also play a role here. ;)

YUMMY
We had already presented this Belgian film with zombies in an Eastern European beauty clinic some time ago. The flick is actually coming to our cinemas on July 23rd.

HALLOWEEN KILLS
There is only a short teaser for »Halloween Kills« which starts where Halloween ended. It's so intense, when Jamie Lee Curtis desperately shouts “Let it burn” again and again in the face of the approaching fire brigade. Unfortunately we have to wait until October 2021 for the »Halloween« sequel.

Series

STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS
Why not make the red shirts and all those low ranks the protagonists. Someone has to scrub the toilets on the Enterprise ;) The idea for this Star Trek animation series sounds really funny. But unfortunately the trailer for »Star Trek: Lower Decks« was not quite convincing. Let's see - maybe the series will be better than what trailer is showing so far.

THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY Season 2
The adaptation of the Dark Horse comic series of the same name goes into the second round. Once again, the Hargreeves siblings have to save the world from the apocalypse, only this time in the 1960s. The trailer makes us really hot for the new season. The show will be available on Netflix from July 31st.

THE BOYS Season 2
We'll also meet weird superheroes on Amazon Prime. From September 4, "The Boys" will slam again. The trailer does not hold back and is not stingy with nice gore effects. Definitely our highlight of the week.

What are you most looking forward to?

Fans of the »Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles« have every reason to be excited, because there are two new Turtles films in the pipeline!

Let's look back at the last releases from the franchise. These were the feature films »Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles« (2014) and »Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows« (2016). These live-action film adaptations, produced by Michael Bay, were not very well received by the audience. The second movie did a little better in the ratings, but the production team was anything but satisfied with the box office result. Another live-action film was planned, but Michael Bay is now out of the game for a sequel.

Luckily, they are going back to the roots of the series, so the next movie will be an animated film again! The production is to be carried out by Nickelodeon Animation Studios in collaboration with Point Gray Pictures. Behind it are Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, both professing genre fans. And we just assume that they understand the Turtles better than producer Bay.

What do you think? Are Rogan/Goldberg ablet to bring the right humor for the Turtles?

But that's not all, because another Turtles animated movie is planned for Netflix. It will be based on the Nickelodeon series »The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles« from 2018.

So put a pizza in the oven and get ready for a full load of Turtle-Power!

The Polish developing studio CD PROJEKT RED is currently on the lead. Since the success of »The Witcher 3«, they simply cannot be stopped. Their new game »Cyberpunk 2077« which is eagerly being awaited by the community is in the starting blocks and it surely will be among the most celebrated titles of the year besides »The Last of Us 2«.

It's no wonder that NETFLIX has already reached out and is planning an animation series called »Cyberpunk: Edgerunners«. They took the Japanese animation studio TRIGGER on board. These guys will be responsible for the proper anime look of the sttings and the character design. This already sounds promising... We will see the results in 2022 - of course on Netflix!

Again we have a colorful mix on this Trailer Tuesday. Whether sports drama, steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, animated film, comedy or zombies - there should be something for everyone.

The world in this steampunk fable just did it for us.

DEATH STRANDING - Exclusive PC Features Trailer
The features trailer on Hideo Kojima's »Death Stranding« with Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen also grabbed us. The PC edition will be released on 14th July.

HORIZON ZERO DAWN - PC Features Trailer
Here also the trailer picked us up and really made us want to play the complete edition. The release date is 7th August. By the way, we have listed two cool Prime 1 statues (Aloy and Stalker) in the shop for pre-order.

Series

CURSED - Trailer 2
There is a second trailer for the Netflix series »Cursed«. This time the trailer reveals something more about the alternative Arthurian story. The clip looks very high quality, although we are still not convinced about the content. Let's check it out from 17th July on Netflix.

TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON TRILOGY - Siege
The devastating war between Autobots and Decepticons is now ending. A must-see for all »Transformers« fans! The animation series celebrates its exclusive premiere on Netflix on 30th July.

THE WAY BACK
Jack Cunningham (Ben Affleck) receives the offer to bring the unsuccessful basketball team of his old university up to speed as a coach. A film for all fans of sports dramas and Ben Affleck. From 23. July at the movies.

FATAL AFFAIR
A brief encounter takes a dangerous turn for Ellie when her old friend David turns out to be unexpectedly unstable. With Nia Long (Empire) and Omar Epps (Dr. House). This reminds us of the 80s film »Fatal Attraction« . From 16th July on Netflix.

AN AMERICAN PICKLE
The immigrant Herschel Greenbaum (Seth Rogen) falls into a tub with pickled gherkins in 1920. 100 years later, he wakes up in what is now modern Brooklyn and meets great-grandson Ben (also Rogen). The comedy starts on 6th August on HBO Max and will probably find its way in the Sky program in Germany.

ZOMBIE FOR SALE
Lots of good horror films come from Asia. When it comes to zombies, the South Korean »Train to Busan« was a blast. The last absolutely fantastic zombie comedy was »One Cut of the Dead« from Japan. We are definitely interested here and have put the South Korean »Zombie for Sale« on our watchlist. Unfortunately, no German release date is set yet. We keep our eyes open.

THE OLD GUARD - Trailer 2
A second trailer for the immortal-fantasy-adventure with Charlize Theron. The film starts on Netflix on 10th July. Theron often has a knack for choosing her films. We will definitely watch »The Old Guard«.

Already a couple of months ago, Amazon confirmed that the very popular (Anti-)Superhero show THE BOYS would get a second season.

Now they uploaded a 1 hour long announcement stream on YouTube where the main actors came together with host Patton Oswalt (Spence Olchin from »King of Queens«) via Zoom conference. Of course there was a lot of chatting and joking - but towards the end they gave an exclusive preview on season 2 - namely the first three minutes!

The bloody spectacular will launch (probably worldwide) on Prime Video on 4. September. So you should mark this day fat in your calendar. And by the way, dear Amazon licensors: we definately need an action-figure line up with season 3 the latest....!

Everytime when an extraordinary beautiful collectible on a classic movie or TV show is arriving at the S.P.A.C.E headquarter, the whole crew is gathering  together in the warehouse. That was exactly the case about a week ago, when the first vinyl bust of the new »Tom and Jerry« line by the Asian manufacturer SOAP STUDIO came in. Actually, we already loved this product while putting it online for pre-order back in summer last year, but now looking at the final product in hand, one thing was instantly clear to us all: we do have our new monthly highlight!

If you are a fan of the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons, you probably won't be able to resist the Tom and Jerry »Burger« Vinyl Bust. This item has such a charming aura, thanks to the sculpt, the paint-job and especially thanks to the expression of the two characters. We're pretty sure that everone who adds this piece to his collection will get a smiling face by looking at it everytime. Just wonderful!

We love the fact that Soap Studio is now focusing - probably because of the long years of collaboration with WARNER on several Batman collectibles - on Tom and Jerry, the Looney Tunes, the Flintstones and Co. Let's see what the creative team from Hong Kong will come up with in the future. You can be sure that we will list and take in all upcoming novelties from them in our shop.

The life story of the legendary R&B singer Aretha Franklin. Greatly embodied by Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson!

THE SILENCING
A reformed hunter living in isolation on a wildlife sanctuary becomes involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse when he and the local Sheriff set out to track a vicious killer who may have kidnapped his daughter years ago. The trailer for this thriller with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau looks quite decent.

EASY DOES IT
Two outsiders and their accidental hostage go on a criminal journey through the southwestern United States to find the Californian dream. A crime comedy, among others with Linda Hamilton - the trailer has something...

GREENLAND
A family fights for survival as a planet-killing comet races to Earth. Disasters thriller with Gerard Butler, which is not reinventing the wheel here, but maybe a quite exciting movie.

WAITING FOR THE BARBARIANS
A British magistrate who lives in a small colonial town begins to doubt his loyalty to the Empire... Based on J. M. Coetzee's novel, originally published in 1980. With Johnny Depp, Mark Rylance and Robert Pattinson top-class cast and definitely worth a cinema visit.

THE HANDMADE'S TALE Season 4
We are particularly looking forward to the fourth season of the Hulu series »The Handmade's Tale«. The trailer looks damn good! Unfortunately we have to wait until next year to continue the dystopian series.

FOUNDATION
The science fiction series »Foundation« is based on the novel series of the same name by sci-fi legend Isaac Asimov. That could be a reason to try Apple TV + in 2021.

BRAVE NEW WORLD
»Brave New World« is loosely based on the novel of the same name by Aldous Huxley. Another dystopian science fiction classic. The Series starts on July 15th at the US streaming service Peacock and here probably on Sky.

CYBERPUNK 2077
The extended trailer for »Cyberpunk 2077« was a special treat for us. It really makes us eager for game and finally we have a reason to look forward to the grey November.

Exactly four weeks from today, the legendary SAN DIEGO COMIC CON, the mother of all conventions, is opening its doors - not.

Like any other major event, the world's most important event in pop culture was of course cancelled due to the COVID 19 pandemic. This is extremely sad for all of us - i.e. every single fan or visitor, the exhibitors, the guests and, of course, for us retailers as well - because everyone knows how important and significant SDCC is for the industry. But for the protection of everybody there was no way around the cancellation of the event.

The organizing crew around the SDCC does not want to let the date pass by silently and quietly... and so recently the »Comic-Con@Home 2020« was teased, an online event that should at least be a small consolation for all of us. And hey, everybody will get free parking and a comfy chair and there will even be personalized snacks, you won't have to stand in line, your pets are welcome and there will be badges for all including a seat in the front row ;)

Also we from the S.P.A.C.E Crew will maintain our traditional happening to the SDCC! Of course we will observe and report everything that happens at the »Comic-Con@Home 2020« between July 23rd and 26th. We also assume that some manufacturers will be revealing product novelties on their social media or news channels. We will collect all the important information and bundle it for you as we do every year. Of course we also keep an eye on trailer premieres, online panels and everything else that seems interesting.

As in the years before, we will host at least one big livestream where you can interact to your heart's content. I'm sure we'll also find something nice for a raffle. More details like our schedule, possible guests and other highlights will be announced in time...

Today we have a - meanwhile almost nostalgic - bingewatching tip for you: 24! All nine "Twentyfour" seasons are now available on Netflix - and for those of you who don't know the series yet, now is the time to join in - because... "All events occur in realtime."

Man, we were so excited in 2003 when the first season came on air here. The concept of a TV series in realtime was refreshingly new at the time and worked incredibly well. CTU agent Jack Bauer was the toughest under the sun, who at times did not shy away from questionable methods. Breathless suspense, split-screens and unbelievable twists that kept catching us off guard, so that we were staring through the nights with heart racing.

The narrative quality couldn't keep up the series over the whole distance of nine seasons, but still »24« was a groundbreaking TV-event with a rarely reached tension and addiction factor. And Kiefer Sutherland simply embodied his role magnificently throughout. In this sense: Happy Binging!

STAR WARS: SQUADRONS - Official Gameplay Trailer
Let's start with the games today. After highlighting the new »Star Wars« game last week, a gameplay trailer follows that tells you a little more about the game.

REMOTHERED: BROKEN PORCELAIN
It ain't a secret that we love horror games. So the creepy atmosphere really grabbed us in this release trailer. That promises to be exciting! Release for Playstation 4: August 25th.

LOST IN RANDOM
»Lost in Random« also has a very special atmosphere. The style reminds us a little of the Tim Burton animated films. A closer look at the game could be worthwhile. Release 2021.

CRASH BANDICOOT 4: IT’S ABOUT TIME
Then an old friend logs back into the game with a brand new announcement trailer. Are you interested in a new jump-n-run with crash?

Series

CURSED
»Cursed« is a series by Frank Miller and Thomas Wheeler, in which the Arthurian saga is re-told from the perspective of Nimue (Katherine Langford). The trailer does not reveal much yet and has not yet completely convinced us. From July 17th, we can get an idea of what the series is good for on Netflix.

WARRIOR NUN
Teenage fantasy horror series are currently booming on Netflix. The trailer of this nunsploitation series looks very appealing. We hope it is also good entertainment for everyone beyond the generation of braces. On July 2nd we'll get smarter.

HANNA Staffel 2
After a dramatic final of the first season, »Hanna« goes into the second round. Launch date on Amazon Prime Video on July 3rd.

Movies

HAMILTON
If you are a musical fan, there is good news for you. Disney + brings Broadway to your living room with a recording of the award-winning musical about the life of the American founding father Alexander Hamilton.

ARCHIVE
Preserving the human spirit in a machine and bringing back a loved one who has died are popular sci-fi topics. That's what »Archive« is all about. It will be released in the USA on July 10th. There is no date for Germany yet. We would be interested in the film.

ADVANTAGES OF TRAVELLING BY TRAIN
The Spanish film »Ventajas de viajar en tren« (Advantages of Travelling by Train) is in Germany called »Die obskuren Geschichten eines Zugreisenden« (The Obscure Stories of a Train Passenger). The title alludes to Luis Buñuel's film »That Obscure Object of Desire« and the trailer also makes some direct references to the great surrealists. Coming soon in cinema. The tickets are as good as bought.

THE BIG UGLY
The trailer of this revenge drama reminds us of a Guy Ritchie film. This is also due to the starring role of Vinnie Jones. Alongside him, the film is prominently cast with Ron Perlman and Malcolm McDowell. Names that always make us risk an eye.

THE KING'S MAN (trailer 3)
The third trailer for the Kingsman prequel makes us want to watch the film. We have a thumbs up for the fairy-tale like villain Rasputin. On September 17th  (hopefully) we will order an extra large bucket of popcorn in the cinema of our choice.

Almost exactly on the spot at 8 a.m. this morning it was standing in front of our door - our big fat container from far-east, fully packed with 1/6 novelties!

The delivery was originally already planned for Tuesday, but due to the high workload at the harbours and the train network they just were able to bring the container in today. But honestly, those three more days didn't matter anymore in the end... and the load that is now taken off our minds (because everything went smooth in the end on sea, at customs aso.) is at least as heavy as the container with conent itself ;)

As you surely can imagine, the whole S.P.A.C.E Crew is on fire now. We will not only today, but over the whole weekend be in the warehouse, counting and unpacking all the boxes, checking the items and of course as soon as possible start shipping out pre-orders. So please keep an eye on your mailbox because you will surely have mail from us in the next days.

Latest on Monday we should be ready to mark all available items on our website with "in stock", so that everybody who's still in need for new stuff can order whatever he wants. We really would again give out a big thanks to our very patient pre-ordering customers and we really treasure it that nobody came and burned our house down after basically half a year of cold turkey of 1/6 reload. Thank you - and have lots of fun with unboxing your packages in the next coming days...

There is a new trailer for Nia DaCosta's »Candyman« remake. And this trailer is thoroughly unusual, as it takes us stylistically into a world of images long before the cinema. It is a shadow play, as can still be seen in Indonesia in the traditional shadow play, the Wayang Kulit. What a great idea! For us, it has increased the anticipation for the film enormously, but this trailer is also a small piece of art for itself. A must see!

The film will start on September 24th.

We recently recommended the awesome YouTube format »Reunited Apart« at the warmest to you. Especially the wonderful »Lord of the Rings« episode was a real hit. Two days ago, Josh Gad presented the next cult classic and gathered actors and makers together to another zoom chat session out of their home-office or living room. Along there were folks like Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, Ivan Reitman and Jason Reitman. Of course we are talking about GHOSTBUSTERS!

Again there were so many funny and also moving moments, like the shared memories of the beloved Harold "Egon Spengler" Ramis who passed away in 2014.

Of course there was a charity involved again. In the spotlight of the latest events in the USA, donations for the »Equal Justice Initiative« have been collected. #blacklivesmatter

At last towards the end of the show there was no holding back anymore for every true fan... But let's keep this spoiler-free for those of you who didn't watch this spectular yet ;-)

It's Trailer Tuesday again and time to show you which trailer tickled our retinas in the past few days and which series, films and games we wrote on the notepad.

Series

DARK SEASON 3
The time travel and parallel world adventure "Made in Germany" goes into the third and final round. Start is on June 27th on Netflix. It's underlined in bold in the calendar.

Movies

THE CURRENT WAR
This is about the conflict between Thomas A. Edison and George Westinghouse over the electrification of America. The trailer already looks great and the cast with Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Shannon and Nicholas Hoult also sounds very promising!

EUROVISION SONG CONTEST: THE STORY OF FIRE SAGA
Spoiler Alert!
Yes, it's actually a film about the ESC - Pierce Brosnan and Will Ferrell are among those involved. This could get pretty weird... Unfortunately the trailer already reveals a bit too much. If you don't want to be spoiled, just leave the trailer out and watch the movie on Netflix directly from June 26th.

GHOSTS OF WAR
Follows five battle-hardened American soldiers assigned to hold a French Chateau near the end of World War II. RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE
The Resident Evil series has been around for many years. The announcement trailer for part 8 has some pretty beautiful Gothic elements that will probably push us to the console.

»Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure« from 1989 was a wonderful time travel gaudy that achieved cult status. Now there is the first trailer of the sequel »Bill & Ted Face the Music«, again with Keanu Reeves as Ted 'Theodore' Logan and Alex Winter as Bill S. Preston.

The two are now in their 40s and have still not written the ONE song that is supposed to save the whole universe and the future. Because they are currently lacking in ideas, they decide to travel to the future at the time when they have already written the song and to steal it there themselves. Excellent idea! Or not... because the chaos is of course preprogrammed.

The reunion with these heroes of our youth is first and foremost pure nostalgia. And THAT alone will drive us to the theaters. Reeves and Winter - as the trailer already shows - use their old roles, now aged by 30 years, still excellent. We are looking forward to the film!
