The trailer yield of the last week was a bit thin again. Not everything was able to convince us - a few series and films have caught our attention though. The highlights of our Trailer Tuesday are clearly the games this time.

Series

THE WOODS
»The Woods« is a Polish drama mystery thriller mini series and is based on the eponymous Harlan Cobens novel. The discovery of a body shows connections to the sister of a respected public prosecutor who has been missing for 25 years. The series has our attentionStarting June 12, 2020 on Netflix

LOVECRAFT COUNTRY
This is the second trailer for the HBO series. The African American Atticus Turner searches for his father in the mid-1950s after his disappearance. The trail leads to Lovecraft Country in New England, where the strictest racial laws existed at the time and a racist secret lodge operated. Given the recent events in the United States, more current than ever.

Movies

COVEN
Sexy witches somewhere between Gothic and the Victoria’s Secret lingerie catalog plus lots of colorful effect contact lenses. If you are in puberty, it might be worth a visit. ;) The clip rather put us off, though.

PENGUIN
The trailer of this Indian thriller drama reveals almost nothing, but is full of visual power. On Prime Video in India, UK and USA from June 19. No appointment for Germany yet.

YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT
Our cinematic highlight comes from Blumhouse again. The leading roles are played by Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried. This psycho-horror thriller was directed by David Koepp, who made a name for himself as a screenwriter for »Jurassic Park«, »Mission: Impossible«, »Panic Room« and »Stir of Echoes«. He also directed the last, and Kevin Bacon also starred in it. That looks like a winning team. And after the exciting trailer we hang on the hook. VoD June 19.

NECROMUNDA: UNDERHIVE WARS
»Necromunda: Underhive Wars« is a tactical role-playing game and the first video game adaptation of the legendary tabletop game »Necromunda«. The characters in the atmospheric trailer somehow remind us of »Mad Max«. The game is coming this summer on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

DESPERADOS 3
Here is a trailer of a completely different kind. This time not rendered, but an implementation using miniatures. Our hearts beat faster as figure collectors and diorama enthusiasts. Make sure to check out also the making of this trailer.

THE LAST OF US 2
We don't have to wait long for »The Last of Us 2« - the game will be released on June 19th. The new render trailer is awesome and increases our anticipation of the game immeasurably. Now only survive the last 10 days...

The »Universal Monsters« are unforgettable classics of horror cinema from Hollywood's golden age. Already in the 40s there were a number of crossover films that brought together the well-known characters from Frankenstein's Monster to Dracula to the Wolfman. The films could not match the originals from the 30s in terms of quality, but they had their moments and brought in money. In the course of film history, the classics were revived again and again, whereby the versions of the British Hammer Films were certainly the most prominent and then most innovative representatives in the genre.

After the great success of the Marvel films, Universal thought: "...let's just build a »Shared Universal Dark Universe« with our monsters." That worked before. When »The Mummy« flopped with Tom Cruise, the plan was reconsidered and the decision was made to launch smaller, stand-alone films instead. »The Invisible Man« with Elisabeth Moss cost $7 million and still earned a whopping $122 million at the box office before the cinemas had to close due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The next film will now be »The Wolfman« with Ryan Gosling in the leading role. Like »The Invisible Man«, the film will take place in our present and according to Variety it is said that it is assumed that the film will be stylistically based on Jake Gyllenhaal's thriller »Nightcrawler« with an obviously supernatural twist.

That sounds promising! We are very excited to see how the project will develop. Ryan Gosling seems to us to be the right man for the role and the changed approach gives directing talents from James Wan to John Krasinski the opportunity to follow their own vision without squeezing then into a tight corset of a »Shared Universe « Universal finally seems to be on the right track here.

The actor and voice actor Josh Gad currently hosts a weekly zoom show called »Reunited Apart«, which he publishes on his YouTube channel. Sounds a bit like our HOME ALONE Talk, but let's not assume that he copied it from us ;)

In this online reunion Josh Gad brings together cast and crew of legendary movies for a cosy conversation. THE GOONIES, BACK TO THE FUTURE and SPLASH were the themes of the first three episodes. Especially the »Back to the Future« round with Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and many others was extremely enjoyable and was a real heartwarming experience. We thought that it could not be topped anymore. But far from it - because the current episode of LORD OF THE RINGS is a real blast! 17 great guests, among them almost all of the fellows, led by Peter Jackson himself, joined this great fun. This was - not only for the audience - a rollercoaster of emotions. From goose bumps and tears of joy, to impressive re-enactment interludes and of course heart-refreshing laughter, everything was there ("...One Zoom to rule them all!"). Especially every LOTR fan will enjoy these 50 minutes of entertainment to the fullest.

But the best thing about this campaign is the charity purpose behind it: Josh links each episode to a different charity project he has chosen, which can be supported by the stars and the audience.

So be sure to check it out - and really watch until the end, because then you'll get a teaser on the next, surely also extremely cool, episode ;)

Today's yield for our Trailer Tuesday is not quite as lavish. The forced pause in the at the theaters caused various changes for film starts. Some movies come as VoD or on a silver disc, others with a delay. Not all movie trailers are brand new, but upcoming release dates are reason enough to take another close look.

SHERLOCK HOLMES CHAPTER ONE
A Sherlock Holmes Open World adventure sounds like fun and is just the right thing to keep the little grey cells busy again. Get the carriage, Watson!

CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE - SEASON 4 (WARZONE)
If you prefer something a bit more martial, this »Call of Duty« announcement trailer will probably get your money's worth.

DEAD BY DAYLIGHT: SILENT HILL
»Dead by Daylight« announces its latest collaboration. This time, a survivor and a murderer from another legendary horror game series are introduced. Drum roll... »Silent Hill«! In this cat and mouse game you can be either Heather Mason or Pyramid Head.

Movies

RICHARD JEWELL
Clint Eastwood is a living legend, both in front of and behind the camera. He celebrated his 90th birthday two days ago and he's still making films. His latest work »Richard Jewell« is now scheduled for release in German cinemas on July 2nd.

JUDY & PUNCH
The trailer for this puppeteer story in the Middle Ages is also a bit older. The film has previously been screened at festivals and is now released as a VoD in the USA. We hope for a German release...

ENFANT TERRIBLE
The »Enfant Terrible« here means Rainer Werner Fassbinder. The biopic is probably not everyones taste, but at least a piece of German contemporary and film history. The cinema release date is October 1st.

RUN WITH THE HUNTED
»Run with the Hunted« is a thriller that we don't really know what to make of it after the trailer. Anyway, the movie can already score with the participation of Ron Perlman.

Series

ATTACK ON TITAN
For Anime fans there is the trailer for the fourth and last season of »Attack on Titan«. The season is planned to start this year. In Germany then probably on "Anime on Demand" again.

PERRY MASON
HBO brings back what is probably the best-known criminal defense lawyer in literature, film and series history. The trailer has a great 1930s atmosphere.

CURON
The trailer for this new Netflix fantasy mystery thriller series definitely made us curious. 17 years after the tragic events that forced her to leave Curon, a woman returns home with her two children. They soon discover that the Italian town is cursed... The start date is June 10th.

We finally ended up with music again while searching for our next product of the month. This will especially make Rock fans among you very happy... because the manufacturer Pop Culture Shock brought one of the absolute dinosaurs of Rock to the 1/6 scale with their ALICE COOPER figure that just came out. The cult rockstar, who already turned 72 (but of course looks like 172 years old) can count himself along the never forgotten originals of Rock, especially of the 70's and 80's. Thanks to PCS, he now received his honorable plastic MiniMe, that every fan can display next to the CDs on the shelf or in the showcase.

The figure is designed with high detail and comes with two exchangeable outfits and the matching changeable head. So are you also already hearing the catchy record in your ears? ... You're poison, running through my veins ;-)

After a state of emergency with the #stayathome period lasting for weeks, this is indeed the first five-day week in which the entire S.P.A.C.E Crew is back at our headquarter in full strength. The Second World War continued for 20 years - we are in a post-apocalyptic Poland. Especially in its simplicity, this trailer pulled us under its spell.

THE ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE: GREYMOOR
The new »ESO: Greymoor« trailer lured us with a lot of atmosphere and atmospheric music.

Series

13 REASONS WHY - SEASON 4
The TV series have exciting new seasons for some highlight shows. So for example the 4th and last season about the history of the students at Liberty High. From June 5th on Netflix.

THE ALIENIST: ANGEL OF DARKNESS - SEASON 2
Here we were already thrilled by the first season. The trailer for season 2 trumps with images of bewitching, dark beauty. Runs on TNT, probably soon on Netflix.

DARK - SEASON 3
Who says the Germans can't make series? The time travel adventure enters its third round on June 27th.

Films

DA 5 BLOODS
The new Spike Lee Joint will be running on Netflix from June 12th. A no-brainer for us.

FORCE OF NATURE
A fast-paced action thriller with Mel Gibson. The trailer looks very neat. In the USA digitally on VoD from June 30th. No German launch date yet.

INFAMOUS
A Bonnie and Clyde story in the context of social media. An interesting approach, as we think! VoD, no German date yet.

RELIC
A little caution is always advised when it comes to horror movie trailers. Here, the IMDb score of 6.8 makes us quite confident.

ANTEBELLUM
Also »Antebellum« has a new trailer. We hope that there will also be a German launch date soon.

THE OLD GUARD
Charlize Theron in the film adaptation of Greg Rucka's celebrated graphic novel. An action fantasy adventure with immortals - we'll take a look. From July 10th on Netflix.

TENET
Our highlight of the week is of course the new Christopher Nolan film. We very much hope that Warner Bros. will stay on July 16th. Finally cinema again!

Rumors flared up again and again, and under #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, fans strongly advocated that the version of »Justice League« originally planned by Zack Snyder should be realized. According to DC & Warner that is actually going to happen!

We remember: Zack Snyder got out of the project after his daughter's suicide and Joss Whedon (Avengers 1 & 2) took over. The result was, well, let's say an average superhero movie. Since then, fans have wanted the Snyder Cut. The basis for this is the four-hour rough cut of the film. It is also rumored that the material could possibly be processed into a mini series.

Whenever a film disappointed us, we as fans naturally want a better version of the film. Will Zack Snyder be able to turn a mediocre film into a masterpiece? It will be interesting anyway and the comparison between the versions could also be exciting. The new version of »Justice League« is planned for 2021 on HBO-Max.

But honestly: we have already ticked off »Justice League« a bit and prefer to look ahead... since it won't be long until »Wonder Woman 1984« will start. We are really looking forward to see Gal Gadot again, especially after we listed the »Golden Armor Wonder Woman« by Hot Toys for preorder in our shop. An awesome figure, especially in the deluxe version with a wingspan of a whopping 67cm!

The end of our abstinence from cinema caused by the corona pandemic will hopefully be over soon. The first cinemas will open their doors again in June.

The first blockbuster to find its way onto the screen is Christopher Nolan's »Tenet«. A film made for the big screen! The release date is July 16, but those responsible at Warner Bros. are having a little stomach ache. Because such an expensive film has to run worldwide so that it makes enough money. It is not enough if the cinemas only reopen in a few countries. If Warner decides to postpone the film, it will of course entail a whole lot of postponements.

The alternative date will be August 13, 2020 - that is currently the starting date of »Wonder Woman 1984«. Since no one wants two blockbusters to compete against each other and fight for the favor of the audience, the DC adventure would then be postponed to December. The domino game then continues, because »Dune« should start in December, which would then migrate to 2021 ...

We very much hope that Warner will stick to the original date and that the waiting time for some eagerly awaited films will not be extended again.

We are - also when it comes to movies - still a long way from normal. But in June and July the cinemas are supposed to open again one after another and gradually more famous names appear in the trailers.

THE GOOD LORD BIRD
In this Showtime mini series, Ethan Hawke embodies the American abolitionist John Brown. The trailer looks promising.

SECRET ZOO
This is a very lovable South Korean film. In comedy, timing is everything. In this trailer it is exactly on point. We had to laugh heartily more than once. If everything goes smoothly, it'll be in our cinemas on June 4th.

BODY CAM
This horror mystery thriller captivated us with its atmosphere. In the USA VoD on May 19, probably at our cinema on August 6.

SHIRLEY
The great Elizabeth Moss (The Invisible Man) plays horror author Shirley Jackson (The Haunting of Hill House) The film was shown at the Sundance Film Festival in January and at the Berlinale in February. Moss and Jackson and a trailer with hypnotic images - three reasons to go to the cinema.

UNHINGED
"He Can Happen To Anyone" - Russell Crowe as a menacing psychopath! The trailer turns the tension screw vigorously and gets more intense from second to second. Probably available in our Cinemas this fall.

Today is MOTU MONDAY - which means there is some great news for all »Masters of the Universe« fans out there! Just click into our special newsletter.

Have you heard of Quibi? It stands for Quick Bites and it's a new streaming app that is exclusively designed for smartphones. The individual episodes are not longer than 10 minutes and can be watched in landscape or portrait format. The creator behind the service is former Disney and DreamWorks boss Jeffrey Katzenberg, who has a lot to say about revolutionizing the streaming world.

The trailers for the first series and also the actors like Christoph Waltz and Liam Hemsworth in the series "Most Dangerous Game" or Sophie Turner in "Survive" speak for quality. Furthermore there are also other actors: LeBron James, Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, Will Smith, Laura Dern, Kevin Hart, Tyra Banks, Bill Murray and Laurence Fishburne. Directors such as Steven Spielberg and Guillermo del Toro have produced or directed series exclusively for the service.

The app is also already available in Germany, but only with content in the original audio. The free test period has now been reduced from 90 days to 14 days - afterwards the subscription in Germany is 8.99 € per month.

A good five weeks after the app was launched in the USA, the user numbers are sobering... Most of them end the experience before the free period is over. The people in charge see the Corona crisis as the main reason for the bad start - after all, people were hardly ever on the road anymore to get a quick series bite at the bus stop or while standing in line. And one function was deliberately omitted, as it actually completely contradicts the concept: the series cannot be streamed on TV...

If this already means a quick end of the platform?

May seems to be developing into the Star Wars month, because even beyond »May the 4th« exciting news are circulating in the galaxy.

In the second season of »The Mandalorian« there are prominent newcomers in front of and behind the camera. In addition to Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson), the popular character Bo-Katan will now appear in the series. She is embodied by Katee Sackhoff, who has already lent her voice to Bo-Katan Kryze in »Star Wars: The Clone Wars« and »Star Wars Rebels«. Not yet confirmed by Disney is the announcement that Temuera Morrison will return to the Star Wars universe to play Boba Fett. The news comes from the Hollywood Reporter, which is usually a trusted source. On the other hand, it has been officially announced that Peyton Reed (Ant-Man) and Robert Rodriguez (Sin City), two celebrated directors, have taken their seats in the director's chair.

So we can already say that we are expecting a very exciting second season. It will probably start in October.

The past week had a lot to offer, including a few series and films that we are looking forward to. But we give our greatest love this week to some new hot games...

SPACE FORCE
From the crew that brought you »The Office«, Space Force is coming soon to Netflix. A comedy series with Steve Carell and John Malkovich. The Space Force unit really does exist, it was founded by Donald Trump... Launched on May 29th on Netflix.

LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE
Based on the best-selling novel by Celeste Ng and starring Reese Witherspoon & Kerry Washington, the mini-series follows the residents of Shaker Heights, Ohio, as a mother and daughter newly enter the town and force the current residents to live their lives questioning. The trailer sparked our interest. Coming soon to Prim Video.

INMATE #1: THE RISE OF DANNY TREJO
Actor Danny Trejo spent much of his early life in prison. In this documentary, he talks about his career and how he has overcome a life full of crime and addiction. Exciting close-up of the »Machete« star!

BECKY
Bad-ass Lulu Wilson (Annabelle 2) and Kevin Smith (King of Queens) as the evil guy. Comedians are often best when they are allowed to play a villain. We are very curious. No appointment for Germany yet.

MAID OF SKER 
A new survival horror game inspired by the Welsh folklore that combines psychological and British Gothic horror. The trailer exudes atmosphere, but could not quite convince us. Available in June for PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

MORTAL KOMBAT XI AFTERMATH
Fans of the long-running fighting favorite »Mortal Kombat« can look forward to the Aftermath expansion. »Robocop« is there as a guest. Download possible from May 26th.

ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA
Thanks to TV series such as »Vikings« and »The Last Kingdom«, Vikings are once again enjoying great attention. If you want to get into the fight, you have the chance in »Assassin's Creed Valhalla«. The Cinematic trailer is impressive. The game will be released in late 2020.

THE LAST OF US PART II
But we are really hot on »The Last of Us Part II«. The trailer promises us an emotional and complex story. The game will finally be released on June 19th.

Things are going really well for Taika Waititi at the moment! He made a name for himself with the indie pearl »What We Do in the Shadows«. With »Thor: Ragnarok« the New Zealander then arrived in the mainstream. For »Jojo Rabbit« he was awarded with an Oscar for the best adapted script. Most recently, he directed the final of the first season of »The Mandalorian«.

Disney now confirmed, Waititi will direct one of the new »Star Wars« movies and also will write the script together with the author Krysty Wilson-Cairns. The first of three new Star Wars films is set to hit theaters on December 16, 2022 - the others in 2024 and 2026.

Waititi is a real all-rounder and is characterized above all by his wonderful humor and his occasional mustache. It will be exciting to see what a breath of fresh air he will bring to the Star Wars franchise...

Today there are only series for our Trailer Tuesday. We are virtually traveling to Amsterdam, Ibiza, New England, 300 years back in time and to a galaxy far, far away...

VAN DER VALK
Do you remember the crime series »Van der Valk« with Barry Foster? The series gets a reboot. Amsterdam is always worth a visit. There's no start date for Germany yet.

WHITE LINES
The next destination of our virtual trip is Ibiza. The series WHITE LINES is by »Money Heist« creator Álex Pina. This alone is a reason to switch on! The body of a legendary Manchester DJ is found 20 years after his mysterious disappearance from Ibiza. From May 15th on Netflix.

BARKSKINS
The history of two families is traced for over 300 years. Their descendants are now confronted with the consequences of their ancestors' actions. That looks really good! Since this is a »National Geographic« series, it will surely find its way to us via Disney+.

LOVECRAFT COUNTRY
Our ears are ringing at the name "Lovecraft". It's a novel by Matt Ruff, Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams are participating and HBO will be the home of this horror series - we do not need more information to reserve this series for August.

DISNEY GALLERY: THE MANDALORIAN
We love Star Wars! A documentary series that deals with all aspects of the »Mandalorian« production in eight episodes, is of course a must see for us. Interviews, never-before-seen footage and panel discussions moderated by Jon Favreau - we already have goose bumps.

Happy STAR WARS DAY, dear Jedi Padawans, Sith Lords and womp rats! Today, the Midi-chlorians will go crazy, because there are of course countless goodies and gimmicks for all fans throughout the whole galaxy :-)

We will kick it off, namely with our 5 offers of the week which are obviously only consisting of STAR WARS items. Deal hunting season is open!

The biggest buzz today will surely happen on Disney+ and starwars.com. From today, »The Rise of Skywalker« and therefore the complete »Skywalker Saga« is available on demand. Further, we can look forward to a surely epic finale of the »Clone Wars« and also get a glimpse behind the scenes of »The Mandalorian« with the brand-new docu series »Disney Gallery«.

Speaking of "Mando": may we be treated with a first teaser on season 2...? That would be freakin' awesome! Until then, we can get our portion of goosebumps by this »Celebrating May the 4th in a Galaxy Far, Far Away« clip...

May the 4th be with You!

The pick for our new product of the month led us again to the enchanting »Bishoujo« PVC statues line by the Japanese manufacturer KOTOBUKIYA. They just released a second version of the toxic, but very popular Gotham City Siren POISON IVY from their »DC Comics« license - and this one really got us!

This high grade figure is again based on an illustration by the talented artist Shunya Yamashita. It perfectly queues in along the existing line of the 1/7 scale statues and surely will be a highlight in every DC collection...

Our first batch is on the way to us and will hopefully arrive at the S.P.A.C.E Headquarter in a few days!

"We have such sights to show you!"

With Pinhead and the Zenobites, Clive Barker gave us a whole group of iconic horror characters in the 80s. »Hellraiser« developed cult appeal and was the starting point for a new horror franchise in 1987, which admittedly weakened a bit in the last films.

Now the Hellraiser mythology is getting a series adaptation, we look forward to with great hope - because the series is produced by HBO. The pay TV station has always been a guarantee for high-quality series and is also not squeamish when it comes to depicting violence.

The other participants are also impressive: David Gordon Green, who recently breathed new life into »Halloween«, takes a seat on the director's chair for the first episodes. And the authors also sound promising: here we meet Michael Dougherty, (Trick 'r Treat, Krampus) and Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica, Ash vs. Evil Dead)!

In addition to the series, there will also be a remake of the novel adaptation, although there is no connection between the series and the reboot. Of course we also hope that Doug Bradley will return as Pinhead .

"Ah, the suffering. The sweet, sweet suffering..."

Now there you go: movies that are broadcast exclusively on streaming platforms are eligible for an Oscar nomination. However, this - for many a long overdue - decision is a "one-time" exception for the 2021 Oscars. The reason for this is of course the Corona crisis - the Academy announced this last night.

However, we believe that this regulation will also apply to the following Academy Awards. After all, there are now countless fantastic productions by big players like NETFLIX, AMAZON and co. that are in no way inferior to the established studios and their cinema blockbusters...
